New for 2015 we have a new program for the junior/intermediate and advanced club members who are keen to develop their skills with freestyle – park, pipe and big mountain. This is a five weekend program throughout the season, based at Turoa.
Top level Freeride coaches have been secured to deliver a great program for us, as well as ensuring maximum safety. Our squad will have the opportunity to go to the best spots on the mountain to learn about freeride tactics and skills, fast tracking the progression to become a stronger park, pipe and big mountain skier/boarder.

Scholarship is a key event on Rangatira’s calendar. It is open to all junior and youth members aged 12 to 16, skiers and boarders, and involves a week of skills training, exploring and great fun. The ‘scholars’ stays free in the lodge and the club funds the week’s tuition with both a ski and board instructor.
Scholarship Week is Friday 25 September to Friday 2 October at the Ohakune lodge. Scholars should be able to ski or board confidently in most intermediate runs of the mountain so that the teams can stay together at all times. You get the opportunity to learn some new skills, meet other juniors in the club and the week finishes with the junior club races which are held on the Friday morning.Read more...
