Presidents Weekend – Diner en Blanc, Saturday 18 October Ohakune Lodge

Ohakune: Saturday, October 18 to Sunday, October 19, 2014

President’s Weekend is an open invitation to all adult members - no special invites are issued.  It’s a ‘kid free’ event combined with the senior club champs.  The weekend does have a theme, a fabulous dinner with wine, on Saturday night.  The ‘races’ are strictly amateur and the course is set to ensure that even a ‘first timer’ going through the gates doesn’t feel too daunted.  There are trophies up for grabs for both males & females in age groups as well as the overall club champions.

Join Rangatira

The committee currently has a membership marketing drive underway to attract 50 new members this year.  This will allow us to maintain annual subs and nightly tariffs at an affordable rate for you and at the same time continue to upgrade and maintain the lodges.

Click on the picture below to download a poster (pdf 1MB) which you may like to print and put on your notice board at work, or perhaps at your gym or sports club, to advertise that we have membership open.

Thank you all for your support with this,

Chris Palmer, Membership Officer

Golden Oldies Reunion at Turoa Lodge

Tuesday 12th, Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th August 2014

We are going to hold another three night/day reunion for foundation, present and ex-members who now are into their retirement years and would like to rekindle past friendship or association. Reliving those exciting growth and fun times, sharing and swapping stories, remembering one another; be it at work parties, skiing or at play.

Many would have liked to have attended last year, but did not due to prior engagements or not being able to, physically/health-wise, climb up to Iwikau lodge.

This time we will all reunite at our Turoa lodge in Ohakune, which will be more accessible and desirable.

Race Training at Snowplanet, Silverdale, Auckland

If you’d like to give interclub racing a go, this is a great place to gain some basic gate skills and boost your confidence. Anyone who is a Rangatira member can take part; the courses certainly allow for beginners. The sessions are also a great way for more experienced racers to get in some pre-season practice.

Sessions are aimed at intermediate level skiers or above and the focus is on gate technique with a ski coach. Training sessions are available over 8 weeks on Mondays from 7.45pm to 9.30pm. You can sign up for as many or as little weeks as you would like.
