Maria Oosterbaan

Club member Maria Oosterbaan is profiled in the August/September issue of New Zealand Skier magazine. Maria grew up skiing with her family, taking part in the Rangatira Scholarship, the Whakapapa Ski Racing programme and then got into the new discipline of freeskiing performing outstandingly well in her first year of competition at Whakapapa.

Maria is now spending her senior school year at Mt Aspiring College in Wanaka where she is training with the SAS freeskiing academy at Cardrona, Snow Park and Treble Cone.

Don’t be too surprised if you see younger sister Monique in the magazine in the future. A third-former, she is already beating me in races (no laughing Iain).
