Monique Oosterbaan Wins Junior National Womens Championship Titles

imageMonique Oosterbaan has just spent 9 weeks in Wanaka racing and training with the Cardrona High Performance Team for the 5th year in a row.  The season started with 5 weeks training and then it was into 4 weeks straight racing at Cardrona, Treble Cone, Coronet Peak and Mt Hutt.

There was a lot of fresh snow during racing which sometimes made conditions very challenging for racers and race coordinators. Monique and Trish were pleased to be part of the Queenstown Winter Games.

By the end of the season Monique had achieved the titles of Junior National Slalom Womens Champ and Overall Junior National Womens Champ having come 1st in Slalom 3rd in GS and 3rd in Super G.

Monique hopes to continue her training in the Northern Hemisphere this summer after having completed her university studies and working hard in a holiday job which she is currently looking for.
