Dave Tribe, well known to and loved by many club members, has passed away at Tauranga Hospital.
A service for David will be held at the Katikati R.S.A. ,Henry Road Katikati, on Thursday 27 January 2011 at 11.00am followed by private cremation. Donations to the Cancer Society P.O.Box 1081 or can be made at David’s service. At David’s request please wear bright clothing.
Mark Fairly will be attending Dave’s service and will pass on Rangatira’s condolences to Pauline and the rest of Dave’s family.
Dave was a hard worker for the club over the years - at least one time literally head first in the proverbial fixing a broken sump pump in the middle of winter.
Dave was a real character, a lot of fun to be around and, along with his wife Pauline, always willing to lend a hand or kind word in support of anyone in need of it (like hammering free my frozen hand brake cable one Sunday afternoon).
When shaped skis first started to be available, they were often referred to as parabolic skis. However, Dave was adamant their proper name was diabolical skis! Memory fails me as to whether or not Dave eventually obtained a pair of diabolical skis, but I think he did; and had a blast on them.
We’ll miss you Dave.
