Scholarship Week 2007

We’re almost at the end of a great but wet Scholarship week. The kids have had a great time and have done some fantastic bonding. Unfortunately, the weather has not been kind to us, with only two half days where the Waterfall Express managed to open (in total fog).

Despite this, the kids have been out every day and had some good instruction, but unfortunately for scholars and the instructor this was very limited due to poor visibility and crowded slopes. Conditions have been really wet and windy with only the lower mountain open for most of the week. But so far, they have accomplished skiing on one ski, both in happy valley and the rock garden, with lots of laughs and with great innovation by the scholars. They had great fun watching each other struggle along.  The scholars have also had some great coaching by the instructor Andrea (an easy on the eye, Italian male ski racer!!). On the first afternoon, the scholars were also taught by Andrea to tune and wax their skis. Subsequently, they have been practicing taking care of their skis with minimal damage throughout the week.

The parents and children on the whole have had a wonderful week, and this opportunity given to the kids by the club is very much appreciated. Tonight we are looking forward to some great entertainment, and we know that fun will be had by all!! Thank you!

Regards
Helen and Karin
