Activities for Summer
Please note, despite the itinerary repeated below, RAL announced on 15 December that there will not be summer skiing this year as the snow has melted more quickly than expected.
November 29-30
- Jet Boat / Kayak the Whanganui River $140 adults, $70 kids, discount for 10 or more
December 13-14
- Mountain Bike and Trout Fishing
December 31 - January 4
- Wed - New Year’s Eve Party
- Thur - Snow ski a.m. / Golf p.m.
- Fri -Snow ski a.m. / Car rally p.m.
- Sat -Tokaanu Kayaks - around Wetlands Hot Pools in pm.
- Sun -Snow ski a.m. / Go home p.m.
January 10
- 4WD and Mountain Biking Four wheel drive to Tukino skifield and mountain bike back.
January 17
- Mountain Bike and Trout Fishing Sat - Rautiti Gorge, tubing & picnic Sun - Mountain Road Downhill
January 24 - 26 (Auckland Anniversary W/E)
- Mountain Bike and Trout Fishing.
- Sat - Rautiti Gorge, tubing & picnic
- Sun -Jet Boat / Kayak the Whanganui River ($140 adults, $70 kids, discount for 10 or more)
* All these activities available at any time
Other Handy Notes
- For an extra adventure, bring the kids down on the train (or on the way home).
- Please advertise the Summer Program to others.
- Break up long trips between Auckland and Wellington by taking a break at the lodge. You might even fit in a morning’s skiing.
- Suggest to schools, clubs and other groups that Rangatira Lodge is a great place to stay (give out our info sheet – contact Lonie & Martin for local brochures/contacts).
- Encourage the “BOSS” to have the company conference / team building event at Rangatira Lodge.
Family Functions
- Central location can mean less travel for everyone. Catering available on request.
- 2.5 hours to Napier /Hastings
- 3.5 hrs to New Plymouth
- 3.5 hrs to Tauranga
- 4 hrs to Auckland / Wellington
