2007 Senior Club Champs

The weather for this weekend was looking so bad we never thought we would make it out of the club but it turned out to be a really nice day at Whakapapa and 17 members raced and partyed afterwards.  A great time was had by all (as the pictures would show)

Ngauruhoe Trophy Race 2007

The Ngauruhoe Trophy is competed for by teams of five with at least two women.  There are junior, senior and masters categories. The event is well run and features a great after race function at Ngauruhoe ski club (if you can squeeze in).

This year Rangatira won third place in the senior open category and also achieved a 4th in the masters and an 8th in the juniors.

Haensli Cup 2007

Updated

First place in the snow boarding section for the second year in a row!  Rangatira teams also secured top places in the masters (second) and the juniors (third) sections of the skiing.

Christiania Derby 2007

Rachel and Anthony Strevens along with Anton Haueter and two 2007 Chrisitiania Derby trophiesOnce again Rangatira had impressive representation at the 50th Christiana Ski Club Derby. Despite the horrid conditions we entered five teams in total: 1 Masters, 1 Mens, 2 Womens, 1 Juniors team and 3 individual Snowboarders.

Haensli Cup Victory

One glorious Saturday, it was August 12th, 2006, Rangatira put forth its premier snowboarders into the competitive cauldron that is the Haensli Cup and took away the spoils of war.

Racing 2003

Christiania Derby

On Staurday, August 30, Rangatira entered the prestigous Christiania Derby and won the mens open team race and the masters (men & women combined) team race. Our open womens team came a very creditable fourth.

This was the third year in a row that we have won the Masters event

Christiania Derby

Rangatira 1st in the Masters category for the second year in a row. Mark Fairley was the fastest master and the 5th fastest overall. Well done Mark.

Rangatira has a long tradition of competing in interclub race events held at Mt Ruapehu. We have several trophies on display at the Iwikau lodge.
