Rangatira Alpine Sports Club has two modern ski lodges available for summer hire; one on each side of Mt Ruapehu: at Ohakune at the foot of the Turoa ski field and at Iwikau Village on slopes of Whakapapa ski area.

Accommodation is ‘club’ style with communal living areas, full commercial kitchen facilities, bunkrooms, and drying rooms for wet gear. In addition, both lodges have a separate manager/head teacher double room.  The facilities are ideal for school or sports groups.

The Ohakune lodge has a total capacity of 36 while the Iwikau Village lodge sleeps 32.

Both lodges are only 30 minutes or less to:

  • Horse Riding
  • Caving

  • Ruapehu Crater Walk

The cost to hire the lodges is $20.00 per person per night plus GST, with a minimum total fee of $300 a night at Ohakune and $500 a night at Iwikau Village.  Rates are negotiable for periods of more than a weekend.  Please note that food/provisions are not included in this cost.
