Introduction

The 2009 ski season has come to an end and the final hurrah for Rangatira's 50th anniversary is the Prize Giving to be held at the Orakei scout hall (see next item for details). It would be great to see a good turn out on what is always an enjoyable, social occasion. A number of trophy winners have not yet been announced so you never know, you might be up for an award of some kind.

RAL is offering to fix season pass prices for the next three years if you purchase a 2010 season pass this November (and then November 2011 and November 2012). The adult price is $370. Click here for more details.

Finally, if you have any money left after the season, Snowcentre are have a 50% of sale (excluding Da Kine luggage, ski boots, on-behalf items, and workshop) until November 22nd (email subscribers only - not sure if they actually police this). Newmarket store only.

Snowboard Scholarship

With the growing number of snowboarders in the club the committee would like explore the idea of running a scholarship programme at the end of the September school holidays at Turoa (this is in addition to the usual skiing scholarship).

What we need is expressions of interest from junior members so we can get some plans in place for the 2010 season. Send your emails to r.a.s.c@xtra.co.nz by 7 December 2009.

Work Parties - Summer 2010

The maintenance team is planning a number of work parties over the summer months at both lodges and while the tradesmen among the club members will be in demand so too will volunteers to carry out a number of less ‘technical’ tasks.

Please email r.a.s.c@xtra.co.nz with your availability for either February, March or April.

The club does rely on your involvement with maintenance items and every member attending a work party is credited with a free weekend, fuel costs reimbursed and meals are provided.
