Preseason Social

This year's preseason function will be at the Snowcentre, Newmarket on 27 May and the store will be open for shopping exclusively for us from 6.00pm with the function kicking off at 6.30pm.

Our 2010 Ski Scholarship team will be announced and we have two wonderful auction prizes this year (thanks you to Head New Zealand) along with spot prizes.

Entry fee is $10 per adult and children under 16 years are free. Wine and beer and snacks will be provided.

Ohakune Mardi Gras

Each year Ohakune kicks of the ski season with a Mardi Gras at The Junction; which includes a great line up of live bands.

If you're 18-25 (or young at heart) then you've just gotta be there. Bookings at the lodge are open to guests at members rates plus $5 and bunks are filling fast.

Midwinter Xmas Dinner

To kick off the winter season book in to Iwikau Lodge for a midwinter Xmas Dinner with all the trimmings; Saturday 26th June. This is an adults only weekend and will include whiskey tasting as well as wine for those who love a drop!!

Special weekend tariff of $100 includes accommodation Friday and Saturday nights, a fabulous dinner, whiskey, wine, beer and a special breakfast the following morning.

2010 Scholarships

Ski & Snowboarding Scholarship Applications:
Ski Scholarship - closed
Snowboard Scholarship closes 1 July 2010

All junior and youth members aged 12 to 16 are eligible to attend club scholarship. The only requirement is that each scholar is accompanied at the mountain by at least one parent or guardian.

Snowboarding Scholarship
We are running the first club snowboarding scholarship at Turoa during the last week of September/October school holidays. The dates are Sunday, 3rd October to Friday, 8th October and scholars will spend five days with an RAL snowboard instructor.

The club pays for the boarding instructor from on Monday through to Friday and all scholars receive free accommodation for the nights of Sunday through to Thursday. You are responsible for you own lift pass and ski gear (helmets are compulsory).

To apply the prospective scholar should email r.a.s.c@xtra.co.nz outlining their boarding ability and an overview of what benefit they believe being a scholar will provide them.
