2010 Custodians
We are pleased to announce the custodians for this year.
Kenna Rowe, who has been a member for a number of years, will be starting at Iwikau on 26th June 2010. Kenna is a trained snowboard instructor and last season worked for RAL. She has just returned from a winter season in Canada.
Mark Kettlewell and Hayley Wilson started at Turoa on 19th June and have an extensive background working in hospitality, including managing a back packers lodge.

Work Parties completed
Over the summer and autumn a team of dedicated and hard working current and new members have been sprucing up both lodges in preparation for the winter season.
Turoa improvements include additional storage and more power points in the bunkrooms and the rest of lodge, more efficient heaters installed in the bunkrooms and halls, heaters installed in the bathrooms, new racking in the drying room, additional member drinks coolers, a make-over of the custodian’s room, additional car parks added and pruning of the trees and shrubs.
At Iwikau the outside water tank has been repaired, more efficient heaters and additional power points installed in the bunk rooms and elsewhere, the kitchen fridge has been replaced, a new members cooler installed, improvements made to the drying room and the whole lodge cleaned from top to bottom. This year our start-of-season major food delivery was kindly dropped to our back door by RAL; which certainly saved a lot of sore backs the next morning.

Preseason Function
According to the staff at Snowcentre in Newmarket, Rangatira’s preseason function is the best attended of any club. This year we hosted around 100 members, including potential new members who were keen to come along and check us out.
Adrian Farnsworth kindly donated a set of high performance Head skis, which were auctioned. The funds raised will be used to replace some of our club trophies. Head has been an ongoing sponsor of the club and we are extremely grateful to Adrian for this continued support.

Ski Scholarship
This year’s Ski Scholarship recipients were announced at the preseason function at Snowcentre.
The 2010 Schollars are Austin Cutten, Elliot Martin, James Tomlin, Katie Coulam, Olivia Reid, Piet Tamis, Prue Milbank and Ryan Plank.

Snowboard Scholarship
This is the first year for our budding snowboarders to receive a club scholarship; applications close 30 June 2010. Please email r.a.s.c@xtra.co.nz to apply. We do still have room for one or two juniors aged12-16 years.

Online Booking System
The new online booknig system is now functioning and being used by the Booking Officer. It will be opened up to members to use once all the subscription payments, account changes and 2010 bookings have been brought up to date (and a few wrinkles ironed out).
