What a month! Everyones snow dances have worked as we now have heaps of snow! It looks set to be a long season.
With all this snow, spaces are filling up quickly so be sure to get your bookings in. There’s still a lot of great events and activities planned for the season. To see a list of club events view the calendar here:

Mens Week Where: Iwikau/Whakapapa When: 4th -9th September
Don’t miss this one. They’ll be talking about it in Germany. An OKTOBERFEST occasion always lives up to expectations……. or exceeds them! Skiwis & Junior Club Race Weekend When: 24th/25th September Where: Iwikau / Whakapapa
Come join us at Skiwi’s weekend where it’s all about fun for the kids – although usually the adults manage to have some fun as well! Skiwi’s weekend is for families with kids aged 10 and under (older siblings allowed too). We have a great line up of fun and events. Over the weekend we will also run the Junior club races (ages 10 and under). There are plenty of age group trophies up for grabs so make sure you don’t miss out! End of season party & Backcountry Weekend Where: Turoa When: 22nd – 24th October
Come along and ski your heart out in the final few weeks of the season. We will be seeing the season out with an end of season party (theme TBC). This is your chance to come along and party with the president! Rangatira parties like this are a must on your calendar, everyone welcome. Combined with this weekend is a day of guided backcountry skiing at Turoa and an information evening on mountain safety. More details to come. Secure your place now!
Race Squad Race squad members, Blake Platt, Grace Platt, Brooke Steinberg and Cassidy Bailey turned up for their first race – The Christiania Derby, two weekends ago. Unfortunately the race was cancelled. Those present were presented with their team Hoody kindly sponsored by Nicky Rhodes of Barfoot & Thompson. Absent was Nico Tamis, Holly DuPlessis & Tom MacPherson.
Tessa Taylor Our club member Tessa Taylor passed away Saturday after battling Melanoma as only Tessa could . She was a true Rangatira chick who loved to ski , laugh and have a wine. Rest in peace Tessa, you were one of a kind and will be forever missed. Our thoughts go out to Rhys, Max and Ruby.
Housekeeping
Dinner on a Friday night A reminder for those arriving at the club on a Friday night who require dinner on arrival. To ensure everyone is catered for please contact the club no later than Thursday to confirm you require dinner, advise your ETA and update the custodian should things change.
Coffee at the club If you plan on using the coffee machine at either of the lodges please remember to bring cash with you to contribute towards the cost of the coffee beans.
