About the Event
48km Mountain Bike
Based around the 42 Traverse track, known to many mountain bikers as one of the (if not the) best one day mountain bike trails in the country. The mountain bike event will start on a private Landcorp farm to the south west of the start of the 42 Traverse track. Thanks to the very generous Landcorp farmers for providing us with a great start section to get you to the 42 Traverse track. No more state highway and no more gravel road sections, just excellent gravel tracks, a fast farm section, and a scenic private road!
The 42 Traverse is a historic logging road – undulating (but overall, more down than up) with a few (but not many) technical bits and a handful of short river crossings. In summary… it’s awesome! The event will finish (along with all of the other event options) in the Owhango township Domain where there will be all sorts of good stuff going on!
Vertical Meter gain: 854m
Cut Off / Maximum Event Time – 6.5 hours Please note that all mountain bikers entering the 48km Mountain Bike are required to carry compulsory gear items. View the compulsory gear list
42.2km Trail Marathon
Known to many as one of the most outstanding mountain bike tracks in the country, not many people realise that the 42 Traverse track is an equally outstanding track to experience on foot. You’re in for an amazing journey and about the most fun you can have with your running shoes on!

At the end of the 42 Traverse track you will do a 2.5km loop of the world class Owhango Trails to get the marathon distance and will finish with a short piece of amazing single track through some stunning native bush and private farmland.
The event will finish in the Owhango township Domain where there will be all sorts of good stuff going on!
