Tongariro Junior Race

Tongariro Ski Club is pleased to announce the return of the Junior Interclub race at Whakapapa this year.   Back in the 80’s we held the Bhanski race which was very successful and many of today’s adult skiers will remember being a part of this.

The race, on 8th September, will be for those 17 years or younger on race day.  While the crowning glory will be the Interclub tropy, there will also be awards for the fastest in many age categories for both girls and boys.

The interclub trophy will involve teams of 4 who are members of the same mountain club, and the fastest 3 times will count.  We want to be as inclusive as possible, so there are no requirements for a nominal girl or any set age groups to be in the team, other than all being under 18 on race day. If your club cannot get a team together individuals can enter and they will be part of the individual age category awards.
