Welcome to the first month of winter! Happy Valley is now open and the rest of the ski areas will be opening in the following weeks. Check out all the upcoming events for this winter season, there's something for everyone. Bookings for the season are filling up fast so be sure to get yours in. A reminder subs are now overdue. If these haven't been paid ensure to do this quickly to make the most of all your member benefits.

JUNIOR CLUB RACES
Junior Club races for members 10 years & under are being held Saturday 12th August (save day Sunday 13th August). If you are wanting to participate please register your interest with Anthony & Rachel Strevens - 021 059 5671
WHAKAPAPA CARPARKING
Dear Members, A very unfortunate situation has developed with RAL which affects all ski club lodges on the Whakapapa ski field. With no prior consultation RAL have reduced the overnight parking available by creating a user pays premium car park. This is now the area where the overnight parking was (up by the refuse centre). RAL have not offered any alternative overnight parking area rather they have left it to the clubs to forward a solution. Ruapehu Mountain Club Association (RMCA) have questioned the legality of RAL’s action and will represent its members to resolve the situation. There are many unanswered questions that have been expressed in Rangatira’s letter to RMCA. The urgency of this matter is highlighted by the short time left before the season officially opens. We are hopeful for a resolution over the next two weeks. Your committee is actively involved and will keep you informed as relevant information becomes available. Your President Rainer Plank
